  History

This site is principally about my 1970 Corvette Stingray Coupe with its 450hp small block 5.7litre V8 and 6 speed close ratio Tremec T56 manual gearbox.

The 1970 Corvette came into my hands about 10 years ago, when I immediately set about replacing the very tired suspension. During this time I became aware of the deteriorating paintwork and the ominous rusty flakes dropping from the top of the windscreen. It was clear that something had to be done, with a deep breath and a hand deep in my pocket in March 2004 I sent the vette, on a transporter, to Corvette Kingdom in Norfolk.

Once there it became very apparent to Scott who runs Corvette Kingdom that there was a lot more needing done, in fact it was facing a full strip down and rebuild.

Once the car was stripped the full extent of the problems were revealed and for the first time, but not the last, Scott asked me if it was worthwhile carrying on with the restoration. After hearing all of its woes including a badly rusted badly patched and kinked chassis, severe damage to the front body, a rear fender (wing) to be scrapped along with the drivers door. I took the decision to go ahead. I also made up my mind that this was going to be a no holds barred rebuild so that over the past year we have undertaken this mammoth task.

Several other albums have been added including my fishing and shooting exploits, some photos of my old race cars, Matt and Is trip to Spa and Nurburgring, Saras wedding etc.
